How do I book a trip with Fearless Projects?
To secure a spot, complete and submit a Booking Form, pay a 50% non-refundable deposit, and receive a booking confirmation.
When do I need to pay the full amount?
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 6 weeks before departure.
What happens if I don’t pay on time?
Failure to pay on time may result in cancellation of your booking, with the deposit retained.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfers and online payments. Payment details will be provided in your booking confirmation email.
What if I need to cancel my booking?
Cancellations must be submitted in writing. If you cancel less than 6 weeks before departure, 100% of the fee is non-refundable. If we rebook your spot, you can use your existing credit (minus an admin charge) for a future trip within one year.
What if Fearless Projects cancels a trip?
If we cancel due to weather, safety concerns, or insufficient bookings, you can choose between a full refund or an alternative trip date. We are not responsible for additional costs such as flights or hotels.
When will I receive joining instructions?
Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you detailed joining instructions. These will include the exact marina or anchorage location, a kit list, Captain Lance Shepherd’s contact details, and any last-minute updates.
Who is Captain Lance Shepherd?
Captain Lance is a Yachtmaster Ocean CE with extensive offshore sailing experience. He will be leading and training you throughout the trip.
What training will I receive?
We provide hands-on training covering sail handling, safety drills, navigation, watch system operations, and general boat maintenance.
Will I have responsibilities onboard?
Yes! You will be expected to participate in watch duties, cooking and cleaning, yacht preparation, and maintenance tasks.
How physically demanding is it?
Sailing requires moderate fitness. You should be comfortable moving around a yacht, handling ropes, and working in changing weather conditions.
What should I pack?
A detailed kit list will be provided. Essential items include a soft collapsible bag, a dry bag (20-25L), sailing boots, thermals, gloves, a sailing knife, a head torch, and sunglasses with a strap.
Are sheets and towels provided?
Yes, we provide sheets, pillows, covers, and towels.
Can I bring my own snacks?
Yes, but space is limited. We provide nutritionally balanced meals including fresh, dried, and tinned foods.
What if I bring too much luggage?
Storage space is limited onboard. If you overpack, you may need to leave excess items onshore.
Is smoking allowed?
No. Smoking is strictly prohibited onboard.
Can I drink alcohol onboard?
No. Alcohol is not permitted on the yacht.
What happens if I break the rules?
Failure to follow Skipper’s orders and safety rules may result in immediate removal from the trip at the next port (without refund). Illegal activities will be reported to authorities.
Are there emergency procedures in place?
Yes. We have standing orders, safety protocols, and risk assessments to ensure your safety. All crew members will be briefed on emergency procedures.
What safety equipment is provided?
We provide a life jacket with a 3-point tether and AIS for each crew member. Additional safety gear is available onboard.
Can the itinerary change?
Yes. The itinerary is subject to change due to weather, safety concerns, or operational requirements.
Do I get a refund if the itinerary changes?
No. Refunds are not provided for changes made due to safety or operational reasons.
Do I need insurance?
Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory. It must cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and personal belongings.
Do I need a visa?
You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary visas, vaccinations, and travel documents.
Will I be sleeping onboard?
Yes. Your bunk and bedding are provided. Any onshore accommodation is at your own expense.
Are there showers onboard?
Yes, but water conservation is essential. Showers may be limited depending on water supplies.
How is food arranged?
Meals are prepared onboard by the crew. Fresh, tinned, and dried provisions are supplied. Dietary requirements must be disclosed in advance.
Will I have internet access?
Limited internet is available once a day offshore for emails and messages (no downloads or streaming). There are no restrictions onshore.
Am I responsible for my belongings?
Yes. Fearless Projects is not liable for lost or damaged personal items.
Can I bring my own sailing gear?
Yes, you are encouraged to bring personal foul weather gear, gloves, and a sailing knife.
What if I break or lose equipment onboard?
You are responsible for any damage or loss caused by negligence.
Will I receive a sailing qualification?
While this is a training experience, it is not a formal certification course. However, you will gain valuable sailing skills.
Can I log miles for my sailing qualifications?
Yes! If you are working towards a sailing certification, you can log your miles from the trip.
Will photos or videos be taken?
Yes. We may take photos and videos for promotional use.
Can I opt out of being photographed?
Yes. If you do not want to appear in our media, please inform us in writing before departure.
Are sailors superstitious?
Yes! Many sailors avoid the number 13, which is why it is missing from this list.
